They asked me a couple of weeks ago for a visit with the CO; "I said not at this time".

Is it Time to Declare that The Great Tribulation Has Started ?
by OnTheWayOut ini don't really engage in doctrinal discussions about jw's anymore.
they seem to say some pretty crazy stuff.
but i have read some threads discussing doctrinal changes and how watchtower is really out of ideas and money at the same time.

I had been ignoring this thread, until the CO meeting with the Elders and MS's.
He said "Everyone get out your Tablets. And those who do not have look on with your neighbor(5 out of 12 don't have a device). "
He told us to go to the WT Online Library, W13 p20, paragraph 17 point (3), he paused and said: This is why all of us should try to learn to use these devices because if forced to leave our homes, we can easily carry our devices and be able to receive information from the Faithful Slave from anywhere. Then he reads:
"At that time, the life-saving direction we receive from Jehovah's Organization may not appear practical from a human standpoint. All of us must be ready to obey any instructions we may receive( he injects, like using our Tablets), whether these appear sound from a strategic or human standpoint or not."
The CO pauses again, and says "Brothers, SOMETHING VERY BIG IS ABOUT TO HAPPEN ON THE WORLD SCENE!
I said to myself, he we go again...

by James Jack ini gave a several talks in gadsden alabama usa during the 90's.

I gave a several talks in Gadsden Alabama USA during the 90's. Got to eat and chat with several elders who were in the know such as : Felix Parnell, Willie Anderson, Bobby Rogers, Earl Parnell, Theotis French, and Rob Dibble. All said they struggled with the decision of his DFing. "Ray Franz was a great person, but you can't set your own rules, and go against the Faithful Slave! As an Elder, you must be loyal to the Organization that Jehovah is using and not question the direction that the Faithful gives."
That is the collective thinking I got from these individuals. I never gave it much thought at the time because I was totally in, very active Elder and Regular Pioneer, totally consumed with towing the company line and I didn't want to hear anything negative about the Organization. Knowing what I know now, the conversation would have gone in a different direction.
One funny note I recall is a conversation with Annabel Anderson(Willie's wife). She told me about a Congregation picnic where Ray Franz attended and another publisher introduced her inactive husband who was wearing a beard. Annabel asked Ray privately what he thought about the man's beard, and Ray said :"I like it and see nothing wrong with!".
Annabel told me,"From that point on, I knew there was something wrong with him and it would be a matter of time before Jehovah will deal with him."
I wonder what she thinks now about beards from the 2016 Sept. WT?
Felix, Earl and Willie are dead now. I still see the others from time to time. Maybe I might get a chance to ask some better questions if given the opportunity.

The Ray Franz Saga
by snugglebunny ini'm just curious as to how it all happened.. to explain.
many years back, before ex-jw websites, i called on a local lady in order to design an extension to her already enormous house.
she was a young, voluptuous gal, married to a much older local business man who spared little expense in order to give his young wife whatever her heart desired.. we chatted for ages.

No Girls Scout Cookies for you!
by independent_tre ineven though, i was raised in a witness home, i never remember hearing that girl scout cookies were a no-no.
and even though i've only been baptized for a few years, i don't remember any specific admonishment of these sweet treats.
but recently at work a jdub coworker made it a point to remind me that jw's do not buy or eat girl scout cookies.

I had a girl that rode my Bus recently at a local grocery store yell out load ;"Hey Mr Jack, do you want to buy some GS cookies?". I said "NO" out loud. I felt bad about how I responded to this little girl, 5 minutes later I went to the GS table, apologized, and took out a $10 bill and gave it to the girl and said:"Give the cookies to someone in need". She smiled and gave me a hug.

HTTPS (SSL security) Now Available
by Simon ini've setup an ssl certificate so you can now use https to browse the site.
this creates an encrypted connection between your browser and the server which is more secure and prevents urls visited from being shown in router logs, content can't be eavesdropped etc.... there are also some performance benefits but they won't kick in until i make some more changes.. consider it experimental for now but at some point it will likely automatically redirect you to the secure version of a page.. you can try it by adding 's' to the http part of any address or just goto the home page and browse from there (some mixed content means you may not get the fully green https status in your browser just yet though).. let me know if you have any issues using the site..

Damn, things that are simple to you are like "learning another language" for me.
Please continue to pass on tidbits like this!
I may have to read your topic several more times to truly understand what is happening every time I browse the Internet.

Could they make not donating a disfellowshipping offence?
by purrpurr ini'm wondering at how far the borg could go in begging for money?
their halls are already resembling the"money changers in the temple".
as they get sued more and more due to their pedophilic paradise their coffers will be ever more drained.

You would loose 3/4 of the Congregation, at least in our case! We only have 5 out of 70 main contributors( I know because I'm the Accounts Servant).
An Elder asked me recently; "Why do You think our Accounts have run out of money?". I said: "Only 2 Elders out of 7 contribute each month and in the past 2 years, only 1 of our MS out of 6 has. We rarely get Cash, we don't accept Cards, so I base my answer on the Checks we receive".
Our last 2 Local Needs talks have been about donating, those that contribute, just donated more.
